To whom it may concern... Just as Generation 'X' got tired, gave up, and got day-jobs, Mayfield took an oath to start a musical revolution against 'mainstream' thinking.

Mayfield are an alternative rock band from Adelaide, South Australia formed in 2004. They have forged their own unique blend of punk rock and explosive 'new-grunge' through their varied influences and at times controversial social views.

The philosophy and corner stone of Mayfield is part grunge rejectionism, part hippie ideal, part project mayhem but wholly its own. Mayfield speak of a generation robbed, a generation lied to, a generation out of faith.

ITS TIME TO WAKE UP.
The three men, all in their early-mid twenties, made a pact: to perform raw, pure and hypnotic music for people of all walks of life.

Mayfield’s core and true strength is revealed at their live shows. The band truely calls the road their home and has toured Australia, USA, UK and Europe extensively. They recently completed their second tour of the UK and Europe. On this tour they played 25 dates across western Europe.

The band consists of Zigg West, [Vocals/Guitars] Sam Knight [Drums] and Jett [Bass]

Hardrock, Grunge und Heavy Metal? Wer jetzt wehmütig ein paar verstaubte CDs aus seiner Plattensammlung holt, kann endlich wieder aufatmen: Seit 2006 sind Reflected Black in der Region München unterwegs, und sie vereinen genau diese drei Stilrichtungen in ihrer Musik. Und das, ohne dabei wie ein Abklatsch der großen 90er-Jahre Bands zu klingen.
Moderner, dreckiger, ungezähmter Hardrock, gepaart mit rohem, ungeschliffenem Grunge und druckvollen Metal-Beats - das ist der Sound von Reflected Black. Hier kommen Liebhaber langer Soli ebenso auf ihre Kosten wie Freunde übersteuerter Gitarren und Rückkopplungsorgien. Dass sie durchaus auch leisere Klänge beherrschen, haben Reflected Black jüngst mit ihrer ersten EP “Ascension” unter Beweis gestellt, findet sich hier doch neben harten Rocknummer auch die Ballade “When I’m Gone”.
Rock & Ballads - dieses Motto vertritt die Band nicht nur auf CD, sondern auch bei ihren Live-Auftritten. Dafür wurden sie beim Emerganza-Bandcontest von den Zuschauern ins bayernweite Finale gewählt, und auch als Opener für “Die Apokalyptischen Reiter” und “Mother’s Finest” beim Festival Holledau trafen sie mit dieser Mischung den Nerv des Publikums.

Weitab vom üblichen “Sex, Drugs & Rock N Roll”-Klischee bewegen sich auch die Texte, die mal tiefgründig und nachdenklich, mal aggressiv und wütend
daherkommen. Jeder Song erzählt seine ganz eigene Geschichte. Wer die EP in die Hände bekommt, sollte daher auf jeden Fall einen Blick ins Booklet werfen.
